This Privacy Policy explains how Mythos Launcher ("Mythos", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the app. Mythos is a home‑screen launcher for Android that lets you customize your home screen, app drawer, dock, folders, icons and themes. We built the app to keep your data on your device. Please read this policy carefully.

• Mythos does not require an account and does not ask you to sign in.
• We do not operate our own servers and we do not collect, sell, or upload your personal data.
• Your settings, home‑screen layout and preferences are stored locally on your device.
• The app shows ads through Google AdMob, and offers an optional paid upgrade through Google Play Billing. These Google services may collect data as described below.

Information Stored on Your Device

To function as a launcher, Mythos stores the following locally on your device only (using Android's on‑device storage). This information is not transmitted to us:

• Your home‑screen and dock layout, folders, and widget placements.
• Your chosen settings: grid size, icon size and shape, icon pack, themes, fonts, wallpaper choice, and similar preferences.
• The list of apps you have chosen to hide, and any per‑app customizations you make.
• Recently used apps, used to power features such as suggestions and search results.

This data stays on your device. It is removed when you uninstall the app (and may be included in your device's standard Android backup if you have that enabled, which is controlled by you and Google, not by us).

Installed Apps

Like any launcher, Mythos reads the list of apps installed on your device (using the QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission) so it can display your apps, let you search and launch them, organize them into folders, apply icon packs, and show app shortcuts. This app list is used on your device only to make the launcher work. We do not collect it, transmit it, or share it with anyone.

Hidden Apps & Security

If you choose to lock the "Hidden Apps" feature, Mythos uses your device's own biometric or screen‑lock authentication (fingerprint, face, PIN, pattern, or password) through the Android system. We do not create, store, or have access to your biometrics, PIN, or password.

Third‑Party Services

Google AdMob (Advertising)

Mythos displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and process information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, general device information, and interactions with ads. This data is handled by Google under its own policies, not by us.

You can limit ad personalization or reset your advertising ID in your device settings under Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path varies by device).

Google Play Billing (Optional Purchase)

Mythos offers an optional one‑time "Pro" upgrade. Payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Google's handling of your purchase is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Play Services

The app uses Google Play Services to support ads, in‑app purchases, and standard app functionality. Its use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy linked above.

Permissions We Request

• See all installed apps (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES) — to display and launch your apps from the home screen and app drawer.
• App shortcuts (GET_APP_SHORTCUTS) — to show an app's shortcuts when you long‑press its icon.
• Vibrate (VIBRATE) — to provide haptic feedback for gestures and long‑presses.
• Set wallpaper (SET_WALLPAPER) — to let you change your wallpaper from within the launcher.
• Request app deletion (REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES) — to let you uninstall an app from the launcher (the system asks you to confirm).
• Biometrics (USE_BIOMETRIC) — to protect the optional Hidden Apps feature using your device lock.
• Internet & network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) — required by Google AdMob to load ads.

Children's Privacy

Mythos is a general‑audience utility and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app shows advertising, we recommend it be used by an appropriate audience.

Data Retention & Your Choices

• On‑device data is retained until you change your settings or uninstall the app.
• Uninstalling the app removes the app's locally stored data from your device.
• You can reset or opt out of your advertising identifier in your device's Ads settings at any time.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
